ARTICLING STUDENT NEEDED

 (Maternity Leave Coverage - 1 year)

Camino Law Group, a dynamic and client-focused law firm in Calgary, is seeking a dedicated Articling Student to join our team. We specialize in Immigration, Employment, and Personal Injury Law, providing top-tier legal services to our diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. File management and perform administrative functions related to the practice of law.

  2. Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.

  3. Research legal precedents and gather evidence.

  4. Client follow up and communication to obtain documents and information as required by the file.

  5. Legal research for submission to and review and approval by Managing Lawyer.

  6. Legal drafting as required by the file.

  7. Court and/or tribunal appearance and advocacy.

Requirements:

  1. Graduate from a Canadian law school or Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation (foreign trained lawyers welcomed to apply).

  2. Strong legal writing skills and experience in advocacy.

  3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  5. Familiarity with legal databases and Microsoft Office Suite.

  6. Fluency in a language other than English is a strong asset. 

  7. Experience in community work or assisting vulnerable populations will be considered an asset.

The position is available subject to approval by the Law Society of Alberta. This is a one-year position to fill a maternity leave.
